If Switzerland is your final stop in Europe, make sure to visit the last EU customs office before crossing the border.
By train: Step off at the last station in the EU before entering Switzerland and get your invoice stamped at the customs office inside the station.
By plane: Get your stamp at the last EU airport before flying to Switzerland.

If you are leaving from an EU country other than Italy, customs clearance is done with a physical ink stamp instead of a digital process.
